Hanging on

This tree, barely hanging on, reminds me of life. At times, our roots anchored in faith, family and heritage allow us to hang on to survive the trials and tribulations of life.

Without a Torso

I photographed this optical illusion of a man without a torso standing in the air over an atrium in an office building in San Francisco.

Dardenne Creek

Yesterday, I walked along Dardenne Creek from where it flows out of the lake in the Busch Wildlife Area to where the creek crosses under I-64. In this area the creek passes through some very dense thickets and some verdant forests. It was a beautiful hike, much of it following deer trails through the thicket.

Flowers and Art

A favorite floral arrangement that was part of a past Flowers and Art display at the St. Louis Art Museum. The floral arrangements are created to mimic the paintings.

Santiago Temple

The Santiago Chile temple, as you can see, is in a beautiful, quiet area, befitting a house of the Lord.

Wrong Church Sign

A number of years ago I took this picture across the street from a venerable and well known church in South St. Louis. The neighborhood has deteriorated.

Lindell Boulevard, St. Louis

Lindell Boulevard in St. Louis between Washington University and Kingshighway is well-known for its diversity of homes in terms of architecture, size, and building materials. This is one of the grand homes that I love. Following are a couple of other good examples. It is worth the trip to drive this famous boulevard to see these wonderful homes.

Pleasant Creek (aptly named)

I had a hankering to remember some rich fall colors found in this photo taken at Pleasant Creek in a remote part of Wayne County, Utah and Capitol Reef National Park.

WildTurkeys

This is why I always have my camera with me on Saturdays. I took a little detour off the interstate in Chesterfield, Missouri to swing by the bank. To my surprise, I spotted nine wild turkeys in an open field. I stopped the car, got out the long lens and fired away, catching these two beautiful birds headed for the tree line.
