Mexican Hat Rock

Where is this most unusual rock formation? Of course, just outside of Mexican Hat, Utah. How long can the rock remain balanced on its base?

Natural Bridges National Monument

Natural Bridges National Monument is a small, relatively obscure National Monument in southeast Utah with some exquisite natural bridges. This is one of the natural bridges in the park. A relatively short hike allowed us a very close up view of this huge sandstone arch.

Goblin Valley, Utah

Goblin Valley State Park, between Green River and Hanksville, Utah is one of the most fantastic places in Southern Utah. The rock formations create and conjure up in the mind many eerie images. Children love the place. These three goofy characters watch over the entrance to a valley of goblins. See some of the creatures that follow.

Rocky Mountain Sheep - Capitol Reef National Park

On a hike to see the natural water tanks above the Capitol Reef Gorge, we encountered four Rocky Mountain Sheep. They were eating the green on the few bushes and brush scattered throughout this very rocky and rough terraine.

Boulder Mountain Utah - Hell's Back bone

One of the most beautiful places in Utah - the Civilian Conservation Corp road built in 1938 over Hell's Back bone on Boulder Mountain. It was raining/sleeting at about 9000 feet elevation.

A few miles outside of Cannonville, Utah, is a lesser known state park known as Kodachrome Basin. This photo shows why it is worth visiting.

Delicate Arch - Arches National Park

After hiking up a steep mountain trail and around a huge cliff on a narrow path, I made the turn to be met with this breath taking view of one of the most recognizable and most photographed scenes in the world, the magnificient Delicate Arch in Arches National Park.

Double Arch - Arches National Park

Over the next few weeks, I will be posting daily one of over a thousand images I made during our recent recent trip to the National Parks in Southern Utah with my two sons and granddaughter. What an experience to view the beauties of this world and the companionship of my boys - all coupled with some great photography moments.
